This is an information / planning post - Details will follow Mid April.

An FFI standard RV Formation Clinic is planned at Stanley County Airport near Charlotte, NC - June 26 - 28, 2015. The formal signup will be via a yahoo group that will open around April 15th.

A block of hotel rooms is available now thru May 26th - hotel details below.

Do you have a tentative syllabus?

The date falls right at the end of the Air Race Classic 2015. Looks like the boys can go Formation flying or go "flirt" with the women on the weekend.

May have to try and make this one..

I keep trying to go to this each year, but I can never find an airplane and always busy with testing at work.

For anyone who has been before, is it worth attending if I don't have a flying airplane yet?

Similar to most all formation clinics... Beginners get one ride as a back seat or right seat passenger. Next is one or more rides with an instructor in their right/back seat in 2-ship formations until cleared solo. May step up to 3 or 4-ship formation as skill improves. Ground school on Friday night for all who do not hold a FFI formation card. Other ground schools for RV Aerobatics and Flight Lead training for card holders. Training starts on Friday afternoon and continues until about noon on Sunday. You can get 1 or 2 flights on Friday, 4 or 5 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. The Sunday flight is a mass formation for all who qualify solo.

We occasionally have pilots without airplanes attend. There are ample opportunities for ride-alongs and, of course the ground schools.
