Sorry for the confusion, you are correct in saying 98% of the total capacity has been drained. Based on your responses, the switch isn't just to save the battery.......if you are at this point of the discharge curve, there is nothing left inside it anyway. The switch is more designed to protect the battery when the master switch has been left on etc.
