On Wednesday this week, the XIO-360 Lycoming finally woke up from it's long snooze! It was a milestone we had been looking forward to, and now the time was come!

First: some last words with the projects inspector:

We had requested that firestation at the airport would send over a fire-truck, just in case:

The fire-crew where ready:

And then it was time to turn the key....
A little coughing, then on the second start-attempt, the Lyc woke up with a welcome ROOOOAAARRRRRR:

After a 3 min run on 1200 RPM, it was time to shut down and I was VERY happy:

At once, the inspector started to look for leaks, but found none:

Lastly a look at the panel:

As you can see, I have built the plane so the right seat is pilot seat.

Here a closer look:

As in my first -7, I have installed EFIS'es from AFS because I'm VERY pleased with their products and their customer support. It's among the very best I have ever experienced!

So now it's time to finish up the paperwork and then wait for the final inspection by "Luftfartstilsynet" (equals the FAA).
That'll happen sometime in mid January and then it's time for first flight!

Fire what??

I like the fire guys in this. You make us look bad as we just get a tail rope and a garden hose dragged out close. cool stuff keep it coming.
Yours as always R.E.A. III #80888
