Wing Mounted GoPro Thanksgiving 2013 Watsonville and Hollister, CA

Before my RV was flying, and when I had my Aeronca Sedan, I alway tried to go flying on Thanksgiving morning. Most of the time the weather cooperated. Since my RV has been flying, I've been 2 for 2 for Thanksgiving morning flights. I'm on a roll!

This year I tootled over to Watsonville (KWVI) from my home airport of Reid Hillview (KRHV), then sauntered on over to Hollister (KCVH). I played around a bit with my GoPro on the wing, first facing forward, then facing backward.

This is nothing but raw video...no music, no transitions, nothing cute. In fact, to non-airplane geeks, they could be considered pretty dull and boring. I wasn't even going to post these but I remember when I was building I'd search videos like these out. These helped me keep motivated and I was foolish enough to think that someday I'd be able to post videos like these of my own. Guess I wasn't so foolish after all!

So, enjoy, or not. I know when I don't have time to actually go flying I just love to watch some of the footage I've shot.

Keep pounding those rivets!

Here is the approach to 20 at Watsonville:

And here is the approach and landing to 31 at Hollister, then a take off from 24. I meant to shut off the video after I landed but I guess I didn't. The climb rate is just crazy with these machines. I'm only running a 160hp O-320 with a Catto fixed pitch!

Nice video Kelly. At the beginning of your video into Wattsonville, you went right over a house I used to own at Pajaro Dunes. It was fun seeing it again and the Wattsonville area. What a fun part of the country - you are lucky to live there!
