RV-1 getting ready to leave the nest....

RV1 will be starting it's trek around the country tomorrow. Here are a few pics I took this afternoon after the last finishing touches have been complete. GloCustom finished the paint and installed the wheel pants, I installed a loaner SL40 and ELT.

Thanks for the pictures - and all the electrical and avionics work Walt! The radio looks great, and I'm a lot more comfortable that if the RV-1 pilot has to find his escort in a hazy sky, they have a good chance of talking abut who's lost, and who isn't.... ;)

Look forward to see the RV1

The guys at Heritage Field KPTW, Limerick PA, are looking forward to your visit. We have a active EAA Chapter (1250), 10 RVs in the area and 3 currently being built.

Mark and Al thanks for arranging the visit.

RV-1

No gear leg fairings. They were not on the original.
The radio wooks just fine. 5 by 5.
The "ONE" looks grate with the wheelepants on it, and it picked up 5 mph as well.
Scott Card and I will try to get off to (08A) tomarow.
Tonight is the last night in Texas for the RV-1. The "One" is all snug in the hanger with other RV's so it will be fine.;)

I just got off the phone with Jarhead. We are indeed planning on heading east today after we start to see the areas of low IFR start to lift. Dan, put up your force-field to deflect those storms coming your way, we'll be following them in. The current plan is one fuel / weather eval stop in Louisiana.

Have a great trip Jarhead and Scott! I'll be overhead this afternoon in an aluminum mailing tube, on my way to Spain for the week.

Oh, and yup Dan - Van himself nixed the gear leg fairings....

Paul

Is the spot tracking working?

Ditto...???????????

Edit: Found where Louise posted about the SPOT Tracking in another thread:
"Folks, also remember that you can watch the RV-1 progress if you go to http://rv-1.org and click the Spot button on the lower right side of the page. Right now, it shows nothing since the plane has been on the ground, in GLO Custom's paint shop for a week. But, (if Jarhead remembers to turn it on!) you can see its travels once it leaves 52F. We're counting on you, Roy! (And, thanks, Spot folks.)"
