Randy, Rob and I flew over to Breckenridge, TX Friday early to look at an airplane restoration project. The Wx was cold (31*F) but the air was still and smooth. I took a quick pic of the RVs on the ramp without a thought, and only later realized they were ‘in order’.

Sorry to hear about how cold it was in Texas this morning, DR... :D

15*F when I got to the airport this morning in Michigan. Super smooth air and amazing performance in the cold air. Local group of our guys went out to breakfast at Brighton, Michigan (45G) for breakfast. Tomorrow is Owosso, Michigan (KRNP) for anyone interested!

Flying with no particular destination

Just flying around enjoying the smooth, cold air.

First Night Fligh

Spent Friday night doing 10 takeoff/landings in my RV-6A. My first night experience as PIC...it was quite a challenge and thrill. My instructor had to save me on the first landing as I wasn't flaring soon enough, but I got the hang of it after that. I am looking forward to getting out there again at night for my cross country!

New Plugs....

Had not flown in almost 2 weeks as wife was out of town and had to be home monitoring and ailing dog. Starting the plane had been getting more difficult. Put in new plugs. It started in 2 blades. Leaned back to 3 1/2-4gph and putted around looking at property. Decided to sign my name in ADS-B. My skywriting is almost as bad as my penmanship...

My kind of weather :D

Flew a Flying Samaritan?s trip to Baja Mexico.
Departed Muleg? this morning in ankle deep muck during a brief respite in heavy rain. There is no replacement for displacement.

Our weekend

Saturday I flew Young Eagles in the morning in our C172, then my wife and I flew the RV-10 to Henderson, NV, then a Lyft ride to the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas where we caught the final show of the Fleetwood Mac tour.

We stayed the night in Henderson then flew back home Sunday, enjoying a hefty tailwind all the way back to KLGB. A fun-packed, flying-packed weekend for sure! Pics to come.

Weekend fun

Took some air to air shots of my son Justin in his -4 and Gary, builder of my -7 in his -10. A whole lot of RVing going on.

And we did air to air shots of my friends Stinson Gullwing.

Strictly speaking, it wasn't an RV activity... but I did get in some flying Sunday in a DA40. PTK to HTL and back. First real cross-country flight in a LONG Time.

Flying for food

Attended my second South Carolina Breakfast Club meeting in...
North Carolina?! KRUG, aka Mid-Carolina Airport. Delicious, well-attended
gathering on a chilly day in the "Eagles' Nest"...EAA Ch 1083's insulated hangar. Clear, but lumpy skies...dodging the Charlotte Class B airspace.

More condition inspection items completed. Carb and gascolator screens were clean, the inline filter after the fuel selector seemed to have grabbed the gunk.

Fresh Oil and filter, Thank goodness for another clean oil screen!

Lil' dude cleaning the removable panels while I vaccuum and wipe down the inside.
