Underinflation? Valve stems?

We had two issues:

1. Underinflation. Allows the inner tube to rub against the tire, eventually causing a leak. We use 42 psi.

Taking an informal poll on what you guys are using. I share an RV-7 and this is what I use:

Takeoff - No turns back to airport below 800' (still air)
Climb - 130 kts
Approach - 68 kts

Loose boom mike

On my Lightspeed Zulu. There seems to be an access cover where the mike mates with the left earpiece. Before I dig too much, does anyone know how to tighten up the friction on this...
