I had tried MSFS, but

quickly found my computer to be woefully underpowered.

Steve, what type of radiation were you interested in? The equipment, size, weight, sensitivity, etc. will vary considerably.

530 updates will be available for a long time, and

if you are selling a -10, a 750 will not make any difference -- there are buyers just waiting for you to put your airplane on the market IMHO!

Agree with Pete

The Van's kit for the -7 will work in the -6A. It did take some "field engineering and adjustment" to get it in. I agree the crotch strap is desireable.

Personally, my opinion, the D2 makes a more reliable attitude backup than an iPad -- iPad is great backup for navigation, but is too failure prone (heat, lockups, etc.) for attitude backup.

My 650 has had that message

from day 1 (almost 5 yrs)! Apparently the tach sensor (yellow wire) is screwed up --- I have verified, several times, the fan is working fine and never had an issue.

I keep my D10A independent

of my AFS 5600T, to ensure that it truly acts as backup. The only sharing is in the pitot/static system.

Tried the "Tom" tool, but

found it to be hard to use and could not get good cuts. I finally bit the $ bullet and bought the Airwolf. I recommend that one!

Single point failure on an airplane is the master contactor

run the wire from the hot side and, at least, you will keep the engine running smoothly while everything else goes south! IMHO

I use the Garmin 500/600 simulator

using the G650 or 750 with it. It is a free download from Garmin and has the screens, navigator and an autopilot (sort of). While it is not "apples to apples", it is close enough to my AFS...
