I can imagine the Extra is pricey! The Eagle is $1800/yr for 80K hull for me with 300 hrs in type. The RV-8 is probably 1/2?? 150K hull on RV8 for me was 16-1700/yr.

RV-8 full coverage, 100k hull, $1300

HR II same for just me...

Bob (rvmills)
The choice was difficult until yesterday when I received the insurance quote for the HRII, ouch, $2990 vs. $1300 for a like priced RV8. The additional $1700 per year will buy more RV8....

Thanks for all the great info.

Last question regarding the nose over. The airport I'm at has a 1 grass strip 1600' and 1 paved, 2000'. Is grass ok for the HRII and 2000' on the edge?

Thanks again.

Harmon Rocket II

I was thinking about an RV-8 but I'm enticed by the speed of the HRII. The F1 is a bit out of my price range. Any concerns regarding the HRII or anything special I should look for when looking at an...

Thanks for all of the info. That will be easy to verify.

Regarding a pre purchase, I have an excellent A&P/IA but I agree, someone we'll versed in the RV's should give it the once over for sure.

Inverted fuel system

I'm just beginning my quest to buy an RV8 and I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I pull the trigger. Are all of the 8's built with an inverted fuel system or was it an option? If not, how...

Not an RVer...yet!

I plan on attending in a Super Decathlon, if welcome. Very interested in the RV-8 and learning all about them. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
See you all Saturday,
Rob
