I flew my RV14A to SnF

Easy flight until the end when we ran into a line of thunderstorms and had to maneuver to avoid them. Gotta love central FL (sarcasm).

There is lots to like about the RV-8 including:

1) Solid speed and range
2) Great visibility
3) Decent in turbulence
4) Surprisingly decent amount of space for soft sided luggage. You will be...

My RV14A plane is a real airplane!

This morning, I flew 1.2 hours to reach the magical 40.0 hours I needed to leave Phase 1. All major issues sorted out. A handful of minor ones (example: canopy seals) left to do.

I think i have found the problem

As most everyone said, the likely cause is excessive vibration of the GSU25. Today I checked the bolts that attach the GSU25 to the back of the GDU460. I found two were very loose (not even hand...

The GSU 25 is mounted on the back of the PFD about a foot from the prop cable. The throttle and mixture cables which are nearly identical to the prop control cable do not cause the problem.
