Mine were so old when they broke that MilBar didn't even recognize the model. They sent a free replacement of the then current model.

I got my A&P in the early '70s and bought them used them.

Be careful using stainless and depending on it being "non-ferrous". A lot of stainless steel hardware IS high in iron content. Always check with a magnet.

It may be an FAR or it may be an FAA Order, but he/she should be able to show you something.

I do that, but it doesn't seem to matter. I even cut the "pocket clip" off of one cap and this allows me to keep it in my pocket tip-down. That didn't help either.
