I agree that the Icom A24 is a great performing handheld. The VOR TO matches my panel NAV radio within 1 degree at 40+ miles, etc.. The only annoyance is that you can't simply put it on the wall...

The first thing you'll notice is all the traffic you never saw, and/or that passed very close by. My Zaon MRX cost $400 and worth every penny. Also "sees" traffic in the pattern, from the ground....

In GPS 296 setup page section, select auto mag var or user/manual mag var, then gives magnetic track. Otherwise can also select True or Grid.

Stein harness

The OEM/Stein harness (Spruce sells Stein harness also) is stranded wire, 18 feet, fm D10A to EDC-10A. It is 4 wire, each approx 22-24 gauge, plus a shield.

Sounds exactly how I did mine, just installed a new mag. O360 timing mark/starter located 4 oclock, otherwise same procedure. Have IC left, non IC right. Start, do a mag check, go fm there.
