I have a rudder lock in the cockpit of my 8 , secures the cables / rudder horn . After reading through this thread I’m adding a gust lock at the top for added security.

HF makes a few different types , self feed ( spiral) & regular cut . We go through 50-80 a year at work , they are a bargain compared to the Greenlee & other brands . Proper RPM & Edge Lube helps...

I play with prop/ mixture to dial in the the best MPG at speed . May play with the low rpm and see what that does to MPG .

Bowling Green Kentucky has a big hangar for your plane , hotel in walking distance or the airport guy will give you a ride . Good restaurants within walking distance too

It’s going to be used on a retractable tail wheel , can’t put micro switches in this location but a backup camera might be the ticket to verification of Tailwheel retraction & extension

My experience when a rivet sits too deep in a hole is it doesn’t get proper expansion when squeezed or driven . I’d put a small shim on top of the rivet head ….say a 4-40 nut so the squeezer die...

I looked up the equipment you mentioned , much appreciated. I see the GDL50 replaced the GDL39 . Any reason not to use GDL39 with the GTX35r ? It’s pretty easy to move from plane to plane .

10 months ago I paid $190 a sheet for 16 gauge SS #4 finish . Bought 50 sheets at a time . Today …..$450 a sheet and lucky to get 15 sheets. I have no idea how Vans held off this long for a price...

Yet another option…. I used Carbon Fiber Arrow Shafts . Epoxy the Heim Joint into the ends . I’ll add roll pins thru the assembly as a secondary attachment.
