If it is the standard 1/8x27 thread, it is a pipe thread so it is tapered. It definitely will get more difficult to thread the farther you go...

oil

I am breaking in my IO-540. Just did the first oil change. Used about 2 quarts in 10.5 hours. Engine manufacturer said this was within reason. Oil temps right around 190. Power used around 65%+.

Odyssey batteries are NOT lifeo4 chemistry. Is it possible that the heat exceeded the recommended value for the earthX when mounted on the firewall?

I have a 60 amp and a 40 amp alternator with two EarthX ETX900s...

The ETX900 has a MAXIMUM charge rating of 80 AMPS...so a 60 amp alternator will indeed be below the maximum, as will the 40 amp...

I used the MTV-9 prop instead of the MTV-12 that Vans recommends because my engine is making just under 300 HP and 300 HP is the max limit...

I have the Aerosport Symmetrical panel AND Honeywell TL switches. I did the same things as Mark with the same result.

I set mine up per the instructions at 35 psi static which is about 28 psi while running. I actually called him to verify 35 psi static and not while running....

I did my Rv-10 similar to this. The led ring light around the pushbutton is only illuminated when there is power from the. Vpx AND the key switch for the bus manager (ignition, injectors, ECUs) is on.

I don't think there are many people who have the financial ability to fly uninsured...you may be able to cover the aircraft damage/loss but the LIABILITY is where it will be expensive...

Power up one system at a time. When each individual system checks out, test all together. If there is a problem you will likely get a smoke signal.
