I do not remember it being higher as I ran my fingernail over it. I do remember the line being perfectly straight and could feel the line with my fingernail.

CS Prop as well

I have a Hartzell CS prop. Huge difference over quoted fixed pitch prop.

RV-4 is great VFR, but...

When possible I encourage you to donate to our editor(web hoster).

I've been flying the -4 for 5 years and 600+ hrs. It is a fantastic VFR machine, but most are not set up for "hard IFR"....

Put them in about 1 year ago.
They are a big upgrade in comfort. The pad that sits over the collarbone makes them very comfortable.
Just me, but the color and contrast also was an improvement.

used simple tools

I used a hand held jig saw on 1/4" plexiglass. Made the holes using a plexiglass bit.
It took 2 tries before I was satisfied. Sanded on a disc sander. Beveled the edges to save on drag. Looks darn...

I had a nagging source of a leak that began looking like yours about 6 months ago.

Bought mine with 212 hrs in the logbook. Got 4-star transition training from Dave Austin (DTO), and loved it ever since. Flying the -4 made me a much better pilot. GO FOR IT.
