I bolted the mount to the wall and hung the engine > 2 years before needed. It worked out well. I think I had to remove the engine from the mount in order to mount it to the firewall.

RV9A with battery on the right side(co-pilot). Drawing 31A for the PC680. The only deviation from the plans was to mount the plate nuts on the cockpit side of the firewall instead of on the box.

#8 screws

I replaced the hinges with 3 screws on each side. I trimmed the loops off of the hinge on the firewall and left that as a shim for the plate with nut plates attached.

Alternator size

My understanding from talking to EarthX is that the alternator output determines the size. The 680 is limited to 60 amps and the 900 is sized for 70 amps.
