Fairing rib

I used regular Home Depot aviation department house foam siding. When the fairing is drilled and in place, I used the foam as a rib, that way when you take the fairing off to cleanup and countersink...

Looking at my plane, that is the bracket for the rudder cables. I installed flush since it is high on the outside wall of the tunnel.

Had the same problem

I ended up making drift pins out of longer an 3 bolts. Used these to pull weldment into position, then bolted in. Worked well for me.

That's what I had but am trying to get away from using the circle tube. Would like to fashion a straight pipe from filter to pump. Might have to move the pump bracket forward a bit.

I'm at this point now.

I believe the landing gear weldments are installed just prior to this. Could that have something to do with it? I know my weldments are going to have to be flexed inorder to get them in.

I had a rough time also. Used nail punches to help line it up. Seemed the welds where out of plane. After many expletives was finally able to get them in.

Changed my technique and started at the nose out of the cradle and put first two clecoes on both sides then worked my way aft. Still a pain but worked. Thanks for all the help.

This is a normal part of the construction that you will end up with two extra holes in the ribs
you mentioned. You will want to use the reinforcing doubler to match drill these ribs.

Cold shrink methods

I have stretched my rudder skin using an edge roller. Not very much but enough to notice. Is there a way shrink it back fairly close to factory standards?
