I vote for True versus Mag. setting

I have a garmin and there is a setting for True or Magnetic with isogonic variation.
I bet this setting has gotten changed somehow.

I think that the edge distance is from the edge to the centerline of the hole.
I think standard is 2 times diameter, but there is a minimum of 1.5.
1.5 times .098=.147"

Mark,
My opinion....especially if Van's has ok'd it would be to leave it. Make sure the holes are super smooth deburred. I cannot imagine that this would weaken the rib to the point of any failure...

I talked with Joe at Vans and he stated that the 5/8" hole for the snap bushing could be opened up to 3/4" and the corrogated run down there , but still be careful around the aileron bellcrank...

I did mine with a hole saw (bought the hole saw kit at Home Depot....Dewalt).
I think the kit was $29.95 or so. The holes came out slightly bigger than their nominal diameters...
