Fuel line cover

RV7. I mounted one on the fuel line cover that is under your legs in front of the spar. Perfect location. Out of the way and easily accessible. Going to mount one on the other side as well.

Click Bond Packets

I always keep the Click Bond individual use packets on hand. They are really handy when you don't need a bunch of adhesive.

Also, check around for Hysol adhesive. Similar to CB.

Tough answer

They are as tight as you make them. Standard install has a "L" washer between the angles and the latch. That is your gap. Some install UHMV tape on the latch and this will help some.

Just to chime in with a couple of thoughts. Like others have said, remove the map box to save the space for future upgrades.

Backing strip

Use a backing strip and when you apply the piece also bond with epoxy and micro balloons. This will help lock the rivets down and minimize the chances of the rivets wearing the glass.

Check our Fiberglast. They have a hi temp epoxy. I used it with their product called Soric as structure. (sort of like a honeycomb material). Used both Carbon and glass.
