Aft deck spacer

Hello all,

Hoping for some help as I assemble the aft deck on the RV6. I've been watching the extremely helpful assembly videos by George Orndorff. He details the aluminum angle spacers that need...

Not as bad as I feared

It sounds like it isn't as monumental as I thought it might be. I still think I'll avoid mounting it the way I had it though.

I don't actually have any photos from before. I suppose there is indeed...

Damaged engine mounts?

A few years back I purchased a low time O-360 for my project. While it sat, my Dad and I thought it would be useful to mount it to an automotive stand. This would allow my Dad to periodically rotate...

Not yet

I haven't gotten to that point quite yet. But it looks like I have something to look forward to. Haha. I've decided I am going cut off the upper half of the 2x6 jig members to allow better access. So...

Thanks!

David, I had to do that in a few areas too. Unfortunately, this is less of an issue with the curvature. It's more of an issue with the two sheets of aluminum meeting at different angles to each...

Advice on conical bend rivets?

Happy 4th all,

Hoping for some advice. How did you tackle the transition where the conical bend from the forward side skin matches with the aft side skin. These two skins don't transition smoothly...

Looking good

You and I are just about in the same exact spot in our builds. I'm glad to see that pile of random parts shrinking! Looks like you're making the most of your free time too.

Sounds like a better plan

These 6 holes are the only ones that haven't run right down the center of a flange. And that's because I measured once and drilled. I should know better. Oops!

I think I'll take Kyle's suggestion...

How would you fix this?

Hello all,

I've got an email out to Vans for some official advice. In the interim, I wonder how some of you might approach this. I made a bonehead move and mis-drilled the holes in the side skin...

Thanks all

I like the idea of a second armrest... I wonder how long I'd have to wait to get one for a 6. I'll likely end up going the aluminum angle route since I have quite a bit of that laying around.

Mistakes happen.

At least it isn't DOA. Reminds me of three simple rules I learned:

1: Do the easiest thing first.
2: Don't rely on the accuracy of the person who "fixed" it before you.
3: Many issues are human...

Any idea what these are?
