Exhaust smell at low speeds

My understanding is that at low speeds the angle of the attack is higher and the negative pressure in the tail cone combine to pull CO into the fuselage that then moves forward through the bulkhead...

Here is what worked for me

1) Completely removed the air dams in front of the #1 and #2 cylinders.

2) Sealed every hole I could find around all of the baffles, including the inter-cylinder baffles. Used RTV red.

Oil temps

My oil temps tended to run under 180 deg. I put a butterfly valve in the scat tubing going to the oil cooler and adjusted it so that I get 180 deg. all the time now. The cowl flap did not change that...

What to do with outdated Kevlar O2 bottles

I came across a Kevlar O2 bottle manufactured in 1986. It looks perfect, but it is beyond the 15 year lifetime mandated by the DOT.

Working on the air filter box and thinking about the Van's alternate air door that they recommend for the bottom of the FAB. Seems like this might be another idea:
