My solution was to disassemble the mechanism, and slightly shorten the rod that goes from the button to the latching mechanism....

I would check the aileron rigging before weighing and/or adding weights.
Proper rigging can solve many issues. Maybe rig both ailerons very slightly low on each side. Much easier than adding weight.

Nothing wrong with flying over the Class B airspace, but if you are comfortable with flight following, it's very easy to fly through/under LAX Class B. The controllers are really good.
