I installed the retrofit locking gas caps that Van's sells. Its a ring and the locking cap. Buy a small tube of proseal with them and proseal the ring in.

Pretty easy... Just need to test...

What is a "Light-weight" RV4?

I am currently looking at a 4 weighing in at 1020 lbs. Is that an acceptable number considering it has a O320 and wood prop?

Not at all. I have had mine on my 6A tip-up for 3 years without any issues. You might need to push the double sided tape in to get a good bond from time to time but it's hasn't fallen on my head yet.
