You need a GPS system that is an IFR Certified Navigator to be able to substitute GPS for DME for any approaches that require DME.

I didn't use a dimmer switch on my G3X displays. Press menu twice and set brightness on the touch screen. I believe my second screen just follows what I set on the main screen in front of me.
