RV12 instructor

Dave Cowan CFII taught me to fly my RV12 from 1WA6 (Fall City). He works out of Renton and Boeing fields but drove out to meet me at our field. Private messenger me if you want to know more about him.

New sensor = high fuel pressure

I just installed the new fuel pressure sensor SB 0006 and completed the SD 00017 to confirm return flow and now I am getting high fuel pressure / with verbal warnings.

Anyone else experience this?

18" drill bits?

Is having 18" long bits a must? I have a 16" long 1/8" and 12" long 1/4 and 3/8" bits and with a chucked extension can get me to 18". Or is it a skinny pathway to the hole?

erratic CHTL

In the last 15 minutes of a 2 hour flight the CHTL started jumping between 147 and 0 erratically. The CHTR was stable at 181 and EGTL/R at 1360, Any ideas?

Trimming the tailcone faring

I just finished my 18-02-02 install and had to trim the tailcone faring to get the full range of motion.

It also took us more than 8 hours to do the work. I guess we are slow.

I followed the advice of the above, saved up and just purchased the Van's Autopilot knob kit. It will be here next week. Do I need to remove the avionic cover? (I really don't want to no leaks now...)
