Outside of the -9A my time is in Warriors, 150/152s, and 172s, and I think the -9A is actually even easier to land than the certified birds (none of which are tough of course). :)

Easy mistake to make

As you doubtless know, we have a lot of places over here named for places over there. In fact, my airport is in NEW Kent. Near Hampton, Richmond, Norfolk, Portsmouth, etc. etc. :)

I’d be very surprised if that’s true. GARA pushed a lot of liability away from the aircraft manufacturers. And even for those new models not (yet) protected by GARA, that percentage seems high.

If all you need is the motor, and it's the same as what was in my -9A, you can get just that part from the machine shop that supplies Vans, with the required gizmo already mounted on the drive shaft....

The alternator is kaput. It appears to be the model used in a Kubota tractor, which I gather is a typical install in an RV. On the bench it's grounding positive.
