Shunts are very low resistance, so unlikely enough current can pass to cause damage. I suspect a cracked shunt that finally broke, or a short, but the shunt should take more current then the wire...

If the shunt is mounted on the firewall and exposed, I would look for indication on the firewall of a particle that could have caused a short to ground. There should be a burn mark on the firewall...

Move Regulator

I would move your regulator. That black cover is where you adjust the output voltage of the alternator. It might be inaccessible once the top skin is on.

So with the gad27, the on off of the nav ligths is controlled by switchibg a pin to ground. Either on or off.

Either one but the one facing back cannot be installed once the engine is installed. The one on the side has more clearance and still best tobe installed prior to engine going in the plane.

Adel vs tie base

Anything firewall forward are Adel clamps, except small wires attached to firewall I used tie bases. Everything behind firewall is tie bases with sho glue, except control cables are Adel per plans.

I use a countersink by hand for the inside. Sandpaper for the outside. The tubing Vans uses is really soft. Just make sure you dont scratch the inside of the tube away from the end; poor technique...

I am using the Garmin GEA24 for trim relays. It has priority to pilot’s trim inputs. And the circuit breaker is in front of the pilot, not part of the CB “stack”
