So if I come in on Thursday afternoon to "GAC," should I have an extra sign to display that says " I AM A PITA!" ??? :D

If you see that, you'll know it's me!

Yes, you should! That would get a good laugh out of the ground crew.

If I make it up Friday, I'll have my "PITA" sign too!

Friday for me too

I will be there Friday with my "PITA" sign and expect a filet over garlic mash potatoes and mango chutney. Medium of course!

But really, Jeff has always been there to help get us in the right spot.
Hope it cools off:cool:

.....you're a PITA,
Don't you want to be a PITA, too!

Good idea, Don, I'll try to remember to make my sign, too!

My wife emailed EAA in regard to our planned Saturday arrival and they replied that on there would be food options on the field.

Anybody else with experience here?

I am planning to make my 1st flight into OSH on Friday as well. I have been following all of these posts and picking up on some great advise. I have received a lot of help from my EAA1114 chapter here in NC as well. I am SOOO looking forward to participating in the "Ripon Rumba" as one member so eliquently put it. I must ask though, since I am a newbie at this, (so don't laugh) what is a PITA??? I will be staying in Camp Schoeller with my brother so I won't be camping under my wing but would like to park up front with the multitude of RV's I always see there. Should I sport a HBC or HBP sign upon landing and exiting the runway? Or something else? If the experience of flying into OSH for the 1st time in an airplane I built with my own two hands is HALF as exciting as the flight planning, I am sure it will become one of my most treasured memories. :)

Jeff was either talking about the Pacific Islands Telecommunication Association or http://www.netlingo.com/word/pita.php. I'm guessing the latter.

Welcome to the friendly, inviting community of the AirVenture ground crew.

Since you're not camping WITH your airplane, you'll want Homebuilt Parking (HBP). They'll put you in the right place.

I hope I do not give anyone a reason to classify me as a member of THAT organization!
