Wing tip stroves?

Anyone have any experience with the combo wing tip position lights/strobes/tail lights?

Any guess on the added drag and how much that will cost in terms of speed?

I had planned on a different setup, enclosing everything, but I'm starting to rethink the time vs. drag thing.

Thanks,

Dave

Wing Tip Strobes

There is a calculation which estimates the drag of a wing tip mounted nav light / strobe light at this web site. Check it out.

Dave,

It's more a question of what wingtips you have. On the -4, I'm guessing you need the combination lights unless you love fiberglassing and sanding and dust and raw fingers and.......well, you get the picture.

Just put the combo lights on and go flying. I can't imagine the drag would even be noticable. I used these lights on both my Long-EZ and my RV-6 with no problem.
