Stickers...
How do you guys take off those stickers that Van's uses to label everything??
I tried to get them off the hinges for the elevator today (the powder coated stuff) - used Goo Gone, Windex, and there is still a sticky residue!! Any tips? Thomas |
Sticker goo
I used isopropyl alcohol and papertowels. Soak n scrub. So-so results.

WD-40 works great! Let it soak and then remove what's left with a paper towel.

And don't forget the generic "wax and grease remover" used to clean surfaces before painting. It goes by many brand names, but "Prepsol" is Dupont's name for it, and PPG sells it with the part number "DX 330".

Removing those labels
Coleman camping fuel (Kerosene). Quickly removes the label, a second swipe removes the goo.

Just use lacquer thinner or acetone on a cloth and it comes right off.
