South Bend #4
 

I won't blather on too long, just some quick pics from the day trip Kate and I took to see Grandma in South Bend.

This is SB Trip #4 for us and the 3rd time we have done it in one day. I've found as the kids get older and in more activities, getting 2 days away is tough, but we can usually swing one.

This was the first XC with the iPod Touch, and I have to say, it was great. I had podcasts and music, and Kate watched a video when I was busy with Chicago Approach.

Off we went - forecast was clear and a million all day long. We left about 7:30 and went Anoka - Joliet - Niles, MI. 800NM, 34 Gal 100LL, 5.5 hours flt time - back in the hangar again by 7:15. First time into Niles 3TR - It is a nice little airport with cheap SS and a nice new pump.

Up to 9500ft for the trip down - love a tailwind....
