Learning From Others
A very good read, and a good opportunity to learn. I only wish the circumstances weren't so tragic.
Though the story is formation specific, I believe the principles apply to all flying. http://www.neptunuslex.com/2004/01/09/the-worst-day-ever/ |

Allready read it, as I read this blog, as well as many others frequently. You are correct. Many lessons to be learned from the sad and tragic mistakes of others.

So much to learn from that. Being good and being safe is truly an attitude a mindset and a selfless devotion to making sure those with you are on the same page. Lets never forget this. Keep it safe out there.

So what did I get out of this....
A lack of usable radio frequencies & a possible mis-understanding of hand signals. Turns out everyone wasn't one the same page, so to speak. I was informed yesterday, that a friend of mine and a helicopter came mighty close while on final. There just wasn't enough communication in the pattern, and the fact that helicopters can be tortoise like slow on their pattern legs; and not be where you expect them. Communication is vital!
