Terminate RG-400 with what?

RG-400 should be arriving today. What BNC connector works with this cable and where can you get the connectors?

I have a bunch of Canare 75 ohm BNC connectors, but I assume these won't work?

Both B&C and Steinair sell crimp on BNC connectors. Solder connectors also available, but crimp on are better.

Duane,

You can take your cables to a local avionics shop and they'll crimp on the right connectors. It doesn't cost much and they can do it in about 15 seconds.

If not, then you should really invest in quality BNC connectors and the proper crimping tool. If you don't get a good crimp on the connector, it increases the impedence and you may suffer from weak/intermittent signal problems.

How many feet of RG-400?

I have a question. How many feet required for a typical install in an IFR 9A?

Depends on where you're mounting your antennas. Wing tip or tail VOR? Cowl or wing tip marker beacon? Comm antenna (1 or 2?) under the belly?

Yeah,
I am aware that choice will dictate. I should have asked what's the worst case?
