Issues with AFP pump

I have the AFP kit from Van's. I have two questions:

1) How much current does that pump draw? I can't find that in the drawing anywhere.

2) The baseplate that it mounts to is too wide to fit between the stiffeners on the floor. I bought it from another builder, but I don't think he bent the flanges on the baseplate. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Martin

The bracket being too wide is a common problem. Vans might swap it out for you:

From the instructions...

Quote:

This pump package will draw 5 amps at 12 VDC. The pump should be protected by a 7 to 10 amp circuit breaker. Electrical wiring to the pump should be a minimum of 16 gauge-stranded wire. The pump is supplied with 14-gauge wire.

You can cut off one flange of the baseplate and rivet on a piece of angle along the cut edge to get a better fit.

From what I hear, they rarely fit perfectly. :)
Mine didn't.
