Flap Switch
Does anyone know a source for the Flap switch with the little "flap" as a switch ??
Supplier and part # would be appreciated. Thanks Bob |
Try http://www.avionicshangar.com/index....PROD&ProdID=85. Kinda pricey, but nice.

Convert existing switch
Right now I'm planning on copying my brother's idea of gluing (pro-seal) a custom made handle on to the existing toggle lever.
I already have the 2TL1-7 switch, now all I have to do is make to handle! If any one has a source for a pre-made handle that I could use, I'd be interested. |
Rick, did you ever come up with a supplier for the "bat" handle for the flap switch, or have you made one? If I can't buy one I'm thinking of making one from aluminum and securing it with two set screws. Would be a pain to make it since I'm not a machineist, but probably worth it.

No supplier found
I have done it yet but I'm going to have to make one.

flap switch
Got my cool flap switch with grey "flap" handle from Pacific Coast Avionics. It has a placard included that is screen printed on aluminum, and is quite large. I believe this switch cost about 90 bucks!! Worth it? Idunno...But worked out just great in my panel, and when you consider the cost of engraving and such, It wasn't as bad as I thought. Also very cool, and a very high quality part as well.

Found some.... called Peterbuilt toggle extensions ... Chrome $12 per pair.
Go to the nearest large interstate truckstop and go to their toy department. I had a link to an online store but can't find it right now. Found it... www.empirechromeshop.com/c-356-peterbilt.aspx These are not "flap" shaped, but round and tapered either larger to the finger end or smaller. Really look nice. Larry |
Roll your own
For those comfortable with Epoxy, cast a block of Epoxy and Micro (Flox) and grind to shape, drill holes for switch handle and locking set screw. Polish or paint to suit your panel.

I used this one
I ordered these from digikey, they are made by NKK switch. You may have to dig around a bit for the color or check other vendors but it really works out well.
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=360-2274-ND They are listed a $9.02 in the catalog Paul N694BP reserved RV-6A (or B or C) |
