Looking for aircraft engine info

I'm looking for a good source of info on common aircraft engine design.

i.e. why the intake comes through the sump. Etc.

I'm familiar with automotive engines, I'm just looking a book or website with the theory behind the differences.

Still in the dreaming stage of my rv9 build.

Two good books:

Sacramento Sky Ranch Engine Manual: Operation, failure, repair, piston aircraft engines Paperback ? 1991

Mike Busch on Engines: What every aircraft owner needs to know about the design, operation, condition monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of piston aircraft engines 1st Edition
