RV8 wing Dihedral?
 

How is the dihedral set on an RV-8 wing?
Asking because I?m looking at an -8 and the right wing tip is 1 3/4? higher than the left.

Set by center spar and wing spars.

Can?t speak to the early models but the later models are set from the factory.

Could be gear legs causing the difference while sitting on the ground.

May be as simple as uneven tire pressure, or as bad as a tweaked gear leg.

Put a level across the longerons laterally, and if it?s level, check the tires for equal pressure. This assumes the floor where it?s sitting is level. If everything is level and one wing is higher than the other, maybe you should call Vans and see what they recommend.

Can't eyeball it. Level airplane to specs by vans then check the wing angles. If it is that out of wack I would suspect some wallowed out wing mount holes and run away.
