Vans Powder Coat touch up

A bunch of old threads mention that Vans sells a small bottle of touch-up for making small repairs to powder coating scratches. I just searched and could not find this item anymore. Anyone have a link to it?

On Van's site, look for PAINT, TOUCH-UP PGRAY. The small bottle's label says

"<<Next Record>>PPG Concept Acrylic Urethane (DDC) Pearl Gray...." and then there's some safety information.

Touch Up Paint

I called Van's about this and learned they no longer sell it. You have to get it through aftermarket suppliers.

That white is the standar color. It is a very very light gray.

Thanks. You saved me a call. Any wisdom in fixing minor powdercoat scratches by lightly scuffing and then giving it a spray of white Rustoleum rattlecan paint? For deep gouges that?s probably not going to protect well, but for light scratches?

The powder coat is so thin on some parts I can see the metal suppliers markings underneath, so rattle can can't be much worse. That said, the color probably won't match at all, so you may be better off getting it matched at a proper automotive paint supplier.

Funny - between a 10 friend and I, we have purchased 8 replacement aileron hinges and they all had medium to heavy PC. All the white ones were pretty close in color to the HF white PC offering. Did them in a toaster oven, came out like new.

Besides, they will get painted won't they, unless polishing of course?
