Hmmm. I suspect latex sealant, or one of the acid cure silicones, but I'll have my cowl off today for a condition inspection in progress. I'll take a hard look at the FireBarrier 2000, now going on 9 years since installation, in a humid deep south climate.

My heart skipped a beat when I too read these last few posts. I checked the specs on Fire Barrier 2000+ and it is indeed a neutral curing silicone, so non corrosive. Specs, and statement that it is "neutral-cure" may be found below: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-...3123941&rt=rud The only negatives I could find with respect to corrosion were during the curing process.
