Phoenix Area Fly-In Breakfast

Okay Az area RV-12er?s.....now that it is full swing ?SnowBird Season?; it would be cool to meet fellow aviators for breakfast in the Phoenix area.

Suggestions are needed for the best/favorite fields with good food. Please don?t be bashful (not normally a trait i?ve See in RV?ers..

Great idea, lots of options from Ryan in Tucson to Seligman NW of Prescott. Staying in the valley or heading south might be a more predictable weather wise. I know there are several 12's at Marana, maybe that is the destination?

In the valley itself I think Chandler is the best food but also busy and noisy, not so good for big groups.

Coolidge has a fly in breakfast on the first Saturday of the month that is well attended and usually has some nice antiques and warbirds in attendance. Breakfast is served from a portable kitchen. Coolidge is much more about the aircraft than the food, but I still recommend it! I would be going tomorrow except that we have a Young Eagles event planned for the same time!

I've been waiting a long time to connect with fellow AZ RV-12ers. Anybody interested in Lake Havasu as a destination. Nice long paved runway (over 8K) and a great restaurant - Hanger 24.

I?ve heard that was good....was going there last weekend, but the honey-do?s got in the way😎

Not sure how many of you are still working for a living...(wouldn?t have to plan around a weekend); but, this month is jammed. How about 2nd Sat in January...locacation to be decided by popular vote...in other words, by me based on the chow😜

AVQ (Marana NW Regional)

No tower, good restaurant, x-wind runways.

Sounds like a plan to me.

Good turnout yesterday with a handful of RVs and plenty of others. Breakfast was very good and the amount of bacon they served was almost too much (if such a thing is possible). They were already serving when I arrived at 0745.

I went back today (to check out the old Coolidge Army Airfield hangar) and caught a couple of RV-12s stopping in (one from Deer Valley and one from Glendale):

I'm a bit late to this ... I am actually flying out of Marana and we have 3 additional RV-12s out here. I personally love flying to San Carlos Apache (P13) as the airport (they now have AvGas and Jet-A) is right across from the Apache Casino (and a gas station for Mogas) which has great breakfast options.
Also just a short 30 minute flight from AVQ and not really far from the PHX area either.

Phoenix Area Breakfast Get Together

Okay guys...place: Hangar Cafe-Chandler Airpot @ 9:00am
Date: December 29th Friday

RV-12er’s (or any other RV model A/C)

Following breakfast, my cohort in crime& I are going on a scenic flight around our local area...Grand Canyon & Brice. Would love company (maybe practice some formation flying (we are both x-military rotor heads who at onetime in our life’s were required to)..maybe not tight. But some good picture taking.

Hope to see you all..I am told the food is yummy.

Edit: since no one has responded...will try @ another time/date

How about meeting at Coolidge(P08) breakfast this Saturday? I know at least of two RV-12 that will be out there and one is mine. :-)

Already have plans for Sat, but will suggest to my co-owner to make it.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but what is the best/coolest thing to do in the Phoenix area? I'm flying the 10th of january from MSP to PHX and leaving the 12th very early back to MSP and then to AMS. One of the things we're going to do is visiting my son who has his flight training at Goodyear.

Regards, Joeri

If you want family (non-aviation) stuff and if you like music, the Musical Instrument Museum is quite unique and an interesting visit.

Thanks for the tip, looks nice!
Anyone experience with "CubDriving" at Falcon Field Airport? (or the museum at Falcon Field)

Tomorrow it's supposed to get clear up to 40 here!! Feels like summer after the past couple weeks of mostly subzero and below-freezing weather.

You have no idea how badly I'd love to attend a fly-in breakfast in Sedona. Seriously.

BobRv4 01-20-2018 07:25 AM

Gagarin737 check pm

sent some info on FFZ

Gagarin737 01-20-2018 07:39 AM

Thanks for the info Bob!
Returned the 12th of January from PHX via MSP to AMS.
My son just went solo at Goodyear with a Bonanza and as a tradition they shaved his head bold ;-)
The museum at Falcon was great. Nice display and you're allowed to crawl through the B-17. A pitty to see the Carbon Cub is wrecked.
We are back in PHX the weekend of the 24th of February. If there is a meeting that weekend we'll try to visit (if that's ok).

Regards, Joeri & Marjolein
