IO-390 Engine Stand
 

All,

I took advantage of the Sun-N-Fun special and ordered an IO-390 with the discount. It's going to arrive 4-5 months before I'm ready for it. Of course, I want to unpack and inspect it when it arrives .. is there a good engine stand recommended?

If it is going to sit for several months before you need it, I would suggest leaving it bolted to the crate/pallet that it is shipped on and leaving the vacuum packing untouched. This will keep it preserved until you are ready for it.

Just so you know what to expect. I assume it will come like mine did. It is not bolted to the pallet. It is vacuum sealed in a bag but is encased in foam inside the corrugated box.

You just take the top off the box and lift it out with a shop crane. No bolts.

If you want to examine it, to lift it you will have to puncture the sealed bag. You should just leave it sealed until closer to when you need it.
