Seat heaters and upholstery
 

I emailed Classic Aero today to inquire about upholstering my Van's foam kit and installing the seat heaters I purchased through the group buy. I was surprised by their responce that they won't install seat heaters in any seats but thier top-end model because it has removeable covers. They glue the cloth to the Vans foam as well as to their base model seat.

How have others upholstered Vans foam kits with the seat heaters?

Talk to Abby at Flightline. She does upholstery for Van's cushions, and I have talked to her in the past about doing heated seats. I can't promise anything, but you should talk to her.

keep them seperate
 

Dont permantly install them in the seats. I just covered the seat heaters in fabric and have them separate from the seats. That way I can move them around to get the best "feel" and when its summer they can be removed and don?t compromise the comfort of the seat. If you cover them with a velour (sp?) type of fabric they will stay in place on the seats.
