Places to land and swim.....
i love to fly and swim. here is a place to add some airports that are located next to a nice swimming hole. i will start it out.........
Katama 1B2 marthas vinyard massachusets, park at the south end of the airport . walk across the street to south beach. couldnt get any better than this. only in new england. bring some fresh water to rinse off.  |

Grab a loaner bike from the FBO and hit the trails to downtown and back. Then head to the end of the grass strip and swim under the covered bridge.  |

Venice, Fl - KVNC Park at the West end of the field, short (couple hundred yards) walk to public beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Or, opt for Sharky's on the Pier for lunch and a swim (a short walk distance South from there) or call me (VAF White Pages) , I'll come pick you up if you can't walk that far. Sharky's is one of Turbo's favorites. :D

W95 is about 100 yards to the beach. Accessible only by air or boat so not as crowded as a lot of places you can drive to. Here's a link to the airport website http://www.ocracokeairport.com -- you can see how crowded it is from the webcam.

Surprised nobody here mentioned this one yet...
Cedar Mills on Lake Texoma (3T0) http://www.cedarmills.com 3000' turf runway, cabin rentals, campsites for RVs(other kind)/campers/tents, sandy beach for swimming, fishing dock, marina, restaurant, etc, etc. |
Mustang Beach Airport, Texas (KRAS)
Port Aransas, about 1/4 mile from the beach. day trips recommended, bring your own tiedown ropes, and five bucks to stay overnight. Amelia's Landing aviation motif hotel if you decide to stay overnight. very cheap shuttle bus to town and back, and hotel has a courtesy car too.
