RV-7 static line water trap

I removed the 90 degree and installed a tee so water would be trapped below the line running Forward. Is this overkill.

I've yet to find any water in an RV static system but the drain point certainly won't hurt anything, assuming it doesn't leak (every connection is another possible leakage point).

If I am interpreting the photo correctly, it looks like the static line is running down the F-728A bellcrank channel to the fuselage floor, then forward through the F-708 bulkhead. At least in my copy of the plans, the static line is meant to run forward along the longerons instead. I'd have to think about it to be sure if it matters in terms of water ingress. Perhaps you already considered this when you chose this routing for the static line?
