Thanks Doug for starting this "Sticky"

Here is my "roll your own" panel, Lots of aluminum chips harmed in the creation of this.

Thanks also to all who responded to a couple of threads I started regarding advice while building this panel.

Heres mine, almost in the box and heading my way. Tony & Eric's handy work at Accuracy Avionics. Shown at SNF this year.

AFS 3500 EFIS & EM, MX-20, CNX-80, SL-30, TT RV-10 AP plus a bit more little stuff. Paint is from Germany, a faux suede.

Here's a couple of pictures of my panel. I used panel planner to do it, and ended up creating 14 full-size print outs before I was satisfied. I would print a design that I thought I would like, and then hung it on the hangar wall and tried chair flying. It's amazing the things you figure out by doing it that way. That's why it took 14 renditions, but printing paper was a whole lot cheaper than cutting aluminum. One of my goals was to have as much as possible on the pilot's side. So far (500 hours), I've been very pleased with my choice. It sure is wonderful to be able to build the panel in a way that works best for you. :)

I guess the pictures didn't upload. Here's a couple of links with pictures that others have taken....

In the first set of photos, you have a mask over the EIS, and in the second set, you dont.

Is it something you added, or removed?? And why??

I added the cover to the Grand Rapids EIS. Stein had them, and maybe still does. It looks a little more finished to me.
