Do I REALLY need a solid rivet here?

The aft most rivets (top and bottom) on the tip ribs of the elevators....

I'd so much rather put an MK-319-BS in those holes and move on than try all sorts of mediocre attempts to set a solid rivet here. I even made a special set of cut down vicegrips into a duck bill type squeezer but in some 15 practice attempts on scrap, I manage to set 1 good rivet tail. And the notion of bucking with a chisel or prybar, I don't know how some of you found success with that.

MK rivet

Yes. Why tempt fate? Plenty of other opportunities to force the issue and dork it up.:D
I live in a Holiday Inn so I don't make mistakes.

Another Specialty Tool

When I got to this point a past builder told me he used a hatchet as a buck bar for these and it worked out pretty well for me. I would suggest using painters tape on the hatchet sharpened edge to protect from scratches.
