Sky Dynamics Sytems

I'm New Here
Is any one building or flying a F1 with Sky Dynamics 6 into 1 exhaust system and their cold air induction system? Seems like it would change the engine cowl alot on the lower part to house all that under there. Also with the 6 into 1 what do you do for a heat muff. My lower cowl fits so tight to the pipes that there isn't much room for a muff.

I built a Rocket with the SkyDynamic System.
Here are some pictures of the build and the heat muff I put on.

I hope it worked so you can see the pictures.
Performance: max speed MTOW in 1500`MSL, 1030mb, -25?C OAT, 222 KIAS.
Highlevel FL 180, 125 KIAS, reduced MP to 13.0 inch, Prop 2400 RPM, FF 8.8 GPH, theoretical FL 220-230 would give best range with WOT.

However, I cannot compare the power advantage to the disadvantage of the increased cowling area and degraded aerodynamics of the cooling air.
Anyway, a brilliant airplane, enjoying it as often as I can.

I fly an F1 with the SD 6 into 1 and the cold air induction. Similar thing to rambo in that the cowling needed bumps where the two pipes are in close proximity (actually touching) and faired those bumps in, not quite as agressively as rambo however and they are still visible as bumps.

Where the original intake tubes where run through the sump, bungs were made up that take SCAT tube and a small inlet was placed on the front cylinder dam just inside the intake. The air enters, goes through the sump and is radiantly warmed then exits via another SCAT tube to an on/off valve on the firewall and onwards into the cockpit.
It doesnt pump out the heat but it works pretty well considering we are only dealing with radiant heat from a fairly low temp source, at high alt when the OAT is very cold it struggles a little but still takes the chill off.

Hi Dragonfly,

could you send or post some pictures of your installation? Always interesting to see different ideas...
How would you judge the advantage/disadvantage or may be you even have a direct comparison between the sd system and the std set up?
The heating cowl I installed is good for about 0 ?C (34?F), below that I appreciate the seat heating imposed by my wife:)

I dont have any pictures currently but give me a little time and I'll get something next time I'm in the hangar and the cowls are off.
