Which Tach Sender ?

Hi Guys,

I'm about to install an MGL Xtreme MFD in my 4 . I'm wondering about the best wayto get a tach signal to the unit . I've identified 3 main ways and was wondering if one is preferable .

1- Use the Van's type sender

2- Wire directly from P-lead on mag

3- Hall effect sensor that attaches to the mag

I'm leaning towards 3 because that's the sender that MGL sells .

Any comments are appreciated !

I have #3 and works good. But it needs to be installed per MGL's instructions. Pull up resistor etc.
