RV-6 Lyle Hefel N136MM

Here are some pics of Lyle Hefel's first aircraft N136MM formerly N214LH.

Year built 1993.

Oshkosh Bronze Lindy award winer 1994.

I have included pics of the areas of the airplane that seem to attract the most attention like the rear fairing, throttle quadrant, wingtip nav lights, rudder pedals, tail wheel, fit of the canopy and instrument panel.

Keep in mind the aircraft is 17 years old with over 1000 hours on it.

Interesting. The throttle quadrant sure looks functional, but it looks like it intrudes a lot into the cockpit. Does it feel that way when you're sitting there?

Also, I notice that there are brakes for both seats... With no throttle for the right seat, is there any point in having brakes there too?

When I first saw this aircraft I thought moving the throttle would be one of the first things I would do to it.

After flying it for a while it is becoming less important.

Flying from the right seat is not an issue as the throttle can easily be reached from there but one has to reach in front of the left seat occupant.
