My son moved to Austin this past March, I'll be flying down within the next couple weeks to visit. Does anyone have a recommendation on which airport near Austin is GA friendly, hanger space for 2 or 3 nights would be a huge plus.

Thanks for any help and info

Gary,

My first choice would be KGTU. There are lots of builders at this airport, and it's very GA friendly. You will have to call the FBO on hanger space, but an option might also be Pilots Choice Aviation. The owner is often seen taking a RV-6 for a spin and might spare some space in the hanger for a few days.

Gary,

77T is in Leander, 3 turf runways and open to the public. Several RVs out here, and lots of other small GA stuff.. Not nearly as fancy as KGTU, but it definitely has its charms! We have fuel, and covered temporary hangars (rustic lookin:cool:)
Excellent mechanic on the field, a painter, alternative engine specialist, and builder of several RVs..

I just recently flew to KAUS and the guys at Atlantic Aviation were great. There was no overnight fee if you took on fuel and they offered a .50 discount per gallon of fuel over the weekend if I remember right. I did not inquire about hangar space though so I'm not sure there.

Thanks

All,
Thanks for the info, I'll make some calls and get things lined up.
